Stags & Hens - The Remix!

Directed By Chris Harrison

Ossett Town Hall - Autumn 2018

Stags and Hens is a lively comedy by Willy Russell that follows a bride and groom on the night before their wedding to a nightclub in 70s Liverpool. Both Linda (The Bride) and Dave (The Groom) have decided to hold their stags and hens nights, not knowing that their other half is at the same place. When Linda's ex-boyfriend, Peter, arrives this causes an uproar between Linda and Dave's friends and when Linda's hen party get a say in all that's happening. The two groups gang together to stop Linda taking up the offer of an escape with her ex Peter. Linda is then forced with a difficult decision - to stay or to go?

The writer of "Educating Rita" and "Blood Brothers" captures the mood of this era in an earthy production that covers some "adult themes" in a poignant but hilarious manner. Not recommended for Under 18s or easily offended, but will prove to be a hugely entertaining evening as you are transported back in time!!!!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs past production

Snow White has been a firm favourite of Priory Players, and we have always enjoyed performing this very popular pantomime to our audience. This year we had record ticket sales with an amazing 1000 people in our audience across our Saturday performances. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful youth section, who are very dedicated to Priory, with many being involved from the age of seven and are still 'treading the boards' at the age of seventeen. Well done to everyone involved on stage, back stage and front of house. And finally, a massive thank you to our audiences for your continued support.

Carrots

Carrots past production

We last performed Carrots in June 2012, and this time round it was another big success. The children put on a brilliant performance helping us raise to raise £100 for the Barnardos charity. Thank you to everybody who supported us and for your kind donations. For more information on the work the charity does, head over to the Barnardos website.

Funny Money

Funny Money past production

One of our most recent productions was Funny Money, a comedy about Mr Henry A. Perkins, an accountant who accidently grabs the wrong briefcase on his commute home from work and finds it full of cash. Mr Perkins decides to keep the briefcase and make plans to jet off to Barcelona with his wife, paying off anybody who gets in his way.

We had lots of fun performing this show, and even won a few awards along the way!

Beauty & The Beast

Beauty and the Beast past production

January 2017 saw the arrival of a pantomime favourite at Ossett Town Hall, Beauty & The Beast. As well as a few cast members trying different roles, Ciaran Keddy joined the group and made his debut as the Beast. Well done to all involved on and off stage for another excellent production.

Peter Pan

Pater Pan past production

In June 2016 we took our audience on a journey with Peter Pan and the Lost Boys in an adventure to the island of Never Land. We challenged ourselves in different ways with this show, particularly back stage with complex scenery and pully mechanics for the flight scenes. Well done to cast, crew and everybody involved for another successful Priory Players production.
